In his first film Truffaut found a fourteen-year-old boy, and he never let him go. Antoine Doinel grew up across five films: he skips school, falls in love, marries, divorces. Jean-Pierre Léaud played the part for twenty years, and those years settled into his face. Watch the films in order and, somewhere along the way, Doinel's life and Léaud's start to blur.
