La película avanza en tres partes y cada una muestra el encuentro del duelo con una institución distinta: la familia, después el tribunal, después la persona que se queda sola. Akın presenta la justicia como procedimiento y no como resultado; la frialdad de las escenas judiciales es el contrapeso del derrumbe inicial.
