Panahi was banned from making films. The following year, without leaving home, in his own apartment, he shot something he called "this is not a film". A copy was taken out of the country on a memory stick and screened at Cannes. A few years later he got behind the wheel of a taxi, mounted a camera in the car and talked to the passengers who climbed in; that became a film too. The longer the ban lasted, the narrower his films became; he never stopped making them.
A Panahi le prohibieron hacer películas. Al año siguiente, sin salir de casa, en su propio apartamento, rodó algo a lo que llamó «esto no es una película». Una copia salió del país en una memoria USB y se proyectó en Cannes. Unos años después se puso al volante de un taxi, colocó una cámara en el coche y habló con los pasajeros que subían; aquello también fue una película. Cuanto más duraba la prohibición, más se estrechaban sus películas; nunca dejó de rodar.
