Van Sant, Hitchcock'un Psycho'sunu kare kare yeniden çekti ve bunu baştan ilan etti. Van Sant remade Hitchcock's Psycho shot for shot and said so from the start. De Palma moved Eisenstein's staircase scene to a train station: the pram, the steps, time slowing down. Scorsese ended Goodfellas with a man firing straight at the audience. That shot comes from The Great Train Robbery, made in 1903, and Scorsese said himself that the two films tell the same story. You can watch them without knowing any of this. Once you know, the films start talking to each other.
Van Sant rehízo plano por plano el Psicosis de Hitchcock y lo anunció desde el principio. De Palma llevó la escena de la escalera de Eisenstein a una estación de tren: el cochecito, los escalones, el tiempo que se ralentiza. Scorsese terminó Goodfellas con un hombre que dispara directamente al público. Ese plano viene de The Great Train Robbery, de 1903, y el propio Scorsese dijo que las dos películas cuentan la misma historia. Se pueden ver sin saber nada de esto. Cuando se sabe, las películas empiezan a hablar entre sí.
